Surrey National v Reigate Hill

Match Report:

Surrey National 49.5, Reigate Hill 40.5

Men of the Match for Surrey National, securing +6 out of the +9 points, were Shaun Newton and Robert Hance. The Surrey National team included quite a number of new names for this match team who all enjoyed the day and the format. Honourable mentions also go to the two Reigate Hill pairs that secured away wins – Paul Reilly & Andrew Faircloth and Trevor Martin and Mark Ridout. An away win is always something to be proud of, but thankfully the Surrey National pairs kept the damage to a minimum.

Farleigh v Surrey Downs

Farleigh 54  Surrey downs 36

Fine day for golf a bit chilly but the rain stayed clear

Match 1 good start for Farleigh with john and lee beating Trevor and Dave 10.5-7.5
Match 2 saw Brian and Kevin take a tighter match against Gordon and Phil 10-8
Match 3 des and Keith produced a late onslaught against nick and Ben taking the last 4 holes winning 11.5-6.5
Match 4 saw Alex and Ross take this match against mark and James 10-5 -7.5
Match 5 saw John and jack produce another late onslaught winning the last 3 holes against chris and Tom for a 11.5-6.5 victory

A good result for Farleigh after a poor showing last time out against woldingham thx to Trevor and his team who played in a great spirit as always look forward to the return fixture

Reigate Hill v Surrey National

Match Report:

Reigate Hill 44 Surrey National 46

A great day to kick off the new season- Especially having had to cancel the planned match in March due to terrible weather. Reigate Hill were hospitable as ever and great company - How nice to be able to play in shirt sleeves. A close run match , played in the usual spirit of sportsmanship associated with friendly, but intense, competition. Surrey National managed to hold two games to draws, and fought hard to keep the other two matches to losses of just two holes each. Our day was saved, by our young Turks, Lee Feasey and Max Everett-Rose, coming in with a win of 6 holes. We are very much looking forward to the return match at our place on the 9th June.

Weather Difficulties

Well the season should have started a couple of weeks ago but due to continued winter conditions the first two matches had to be postponed, lets hope it is not too long before the weather changes.
